PURPOSE:To enable the best selection of gamma-rays with constant maintenance of a counting rate, by subjecting a detection output to energy discrimination by using data of the maximum and minimum values of compensation amount data, and by applying XY signal processing to an output after this discrimination. CONSTITUTION:When a desired energy information is given, an optimum energy setting operation circuit 42 finds the maximum and minimum values of an energy discrimination signal ZPHA equivalent to gamma-rays of an energy level to be detected, based on data read from a maximum-minimum value memory element 41. These values are inputted as reference values for comparison in an energy discriminating circuit 31 through the intermediary of D/A converters 43 and 44. When a detection output is inputted as the signal ZPHA in the circuit 31 from a detector, the circuit 31 compares the level of the signal with the reference values and gives a signal to an XY signal processing control circuit to operate the same. The XY signal processing circuit computes XY coordinates of the incidence of the gamma-rays on the basis of a composite signal delivered from the detector for each axis of X and Y, and delivers XY position signals. |
