PURPOSE:To permit a sufficient amount of fuel to be supplied into a pump even in a cold season by installing a selector valve between the overflow valve of a fuel injection pump and a fuel tank and returning the fuel which overflows into a tank side when the fuel temperature is high and returning the fuel into the inflow side of the pump when the fuel temperature is low. CONSTITUTION:The overflow valve 5 of a fuel injection pump 1 is connected to the inflow port 21a of a selector valve 20 through a pipe 15, and the discharge port 21b of the selector valve 20 is connected to a pipe joint 2 through a pipe 16, and a discharge port 21c is connected to a fuel tank 8 through a pipe 17. A temperature sensing member 22 which is formed in nearly U-figure form from a bidirectional shape memory alloy and is contained in the space part 21d of the selector valve 20 is bent inwardly at both edge parts 22b and 22c when the temperature is below a certain value, and bent outwardly when the temperature is over a certain value. Fuel is discharged from the discharge port 21b when the temperature of the fuel which inflows into the space part 21b of the selector valve 20 is below a prescribed value, and the fuel is discharged from the discharge port 21c when the fuel temperature exceeds a prescribed value. |
