PURPOSE:To improve sealing properties as well as heat resistance, vibration resistance and durability by covering one face of a soft core material with a first metal plate having a high coefficient of thermal expansion and covering the other face with a second metal plate having a low coefficient of thermal expansion. CONSTITUTION:A gasket core material 2 is a cylindrical heat-resistant soft gasket material in which asbestos is used as the chief material, and its inner surface is covered with a first metal plate 4 consisting of an aluminum group or brass group alloy having high coefficient of thermal expansion. Whereas, its outer surface is covered by a second metal plate 6 consisting of iron or steel having low coefficient of thermal expansion. The both end parts of the second metal plate 6 is bent inwardly so as to enclose the both end edges 8 of the core member 2 and, further, it is once again bent inwardly so as to adhesively hold the both ends 10 of the first metal plate 4. |
