PURPOSE:To obtain an aqueous grinding liquid capable of raising final processing efficiency and of providing good surface in a stable manner when used in the surface-grinding of aluminum alloy for magnetic disc substrate, by incorporating water with specific amount of an oiliness enhancer followed by regulating the pH, surface tension, and viscosity of the resultant system in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:e objective grinding liquid can be obtained by incorporating water with 0.01-0.5wt% of an oiliness enhancer (pref., oleic acid, butyl stearate) followed by regulating the resultant system in terms of pH, surface tension, and viscosity to 3-5, 25-35dynes/cm, and 0.65-0.75cst, respectively. EFFECT:Rapid in grinding speed, resistant to grinding wheel clogging development, also resistant to developing scratches, etc. on the substrate surface to be ground. |
