PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide satisfactory display quality by preventing the occurrence of crosstalk and flicker between adjacent display cells. SOLUTION: The lateral arrangement of discharge cells (display cells) is defined as a display line and in the case of the first display line shown in Figure, for example, on each display line, discharge cells 20 are connected to electrode wiring 31a and 33a at the interval of one cell (not shown) and the other discharge cells 20 are connected to the next electrode wiring 31b and 33b at the interval of one cell. In the first sub field at the first half part of each field, driving signals are supplied to every other electrode wiring (31a and 33a) and (31c and 33c)... and every other discharge cell is emitted and driven on each display line. Then, in the second sub field of the latter half part, driving signals are supplied to every other electrode wiring (31b and 33b) and (31d, 33d)... and every other discharge cell is emitted and driven on each display line. |
