The filtering and deflection pot is for building rainwater down-pipe. It comprises a housing (2) accessible via a cutaway front opening (3) and containing a filter insert (6). At one end of the latter is an opening (7) extending over the bulk of its cross-sectional area, while its edge (6') at the other end is inclined (a) to the lengthwise axis of the pot. This edge encloses a chamber (14) bounded on the inside by a sieve (9). The whole insert tips out through the front opening. In a first position and with the opening shut by a removable door (1) the insert is accommodated inside the housing and coaxial to it, with the sieve at the bottom. In a second, the door is removed and the insert is tilted with the sieve at the top, protruding part-way out of the housing, from which it is removable. ADVANTAGE - Either filters rainwater before enetering drains or diverts it for garden-watering etc.
