The self-drilling and centring machine blind-rivets a plate to a ribbed supporting profiled member. A shank (6) extends right through a sleeve, having a head (4) at one end and a first drill bit (8) at the other. The sleeve is expanded by retractor of the shank against the member and the hole edge in the plate. A second drill bit (9) is mounted between the head and the first bit, so as to widen the hole in the plate (1). This bit fits in the space between the plate (1), the ribs (10) and the member, securing the rivet to the member and centring the plate. ADVANTAGE - Keeps centre position with plate expansion and contraction.
