A capping device (10) for covering the mouth of a port connector (40) includes a cap (12) having a downwardly extending skirt (16) and an access opening (20) through which a bronchoscope, catheter or other small diameter medical device may be inserted. The skirt (16) includes an inwardly extending rim (18) around its internal surface which detachably snaps over a lip (44) around the mouth of the port. The access opening (20) is selectively sealable by a complementary plug (22) that is tethered to the cap (12) by a flexible tether strap (24). The capping device (10) further includes a flexible anchor strap (26) extending from the cap (12) which snaps onto the knob (48) on the conduit connector (40), thereby retaining the cap (12) on the connector when not in use. |
