OPTICAL PARTS AND TWO BEAM TYPE OPTICAL HEAD FOR MAGNETO-OPTICAL DISK USING THE SAME

PURPOSE:To miniaturize and make the two beam type optical head for magneto- optical disks light weight by consisting an optical function layer of plural thin films in tight contact with each other or the combination thereof and providing the plural optical functions to the incident light. CONSTITUTION:The optical function layer 1 consists of the thin film 2 and thin plate 3 having desired optical functions. A transparent medium 4 is a general rectangular prism and the slope thereof is optically adhered on both sides via the optical function layer 1 in-between. The incident light on incident and exit faces 5 of a rectangular prism arrives at the optical function layer 1 having the two optical functions where the light receives two different effects and, therefore, the control of the characteristics of the transmitted or reflected light is possible. The size and weight of the head are reduced in this way.
