PURPOSE:To form the image corresponding to image data on the surface of an image receiving layer by constituting the title recording material of a thermal recording medium wherein a dye supply layer is provided on a support and a recording medium having the image receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording medium is constituted by providing a dye supply layer on a support and a recording medium is equipped with an image receiving layer and the image receiving layer contains a vinyl chloride resin. The dye supply layer contains at least one thermoplastic resin selected from a cellulosic resin, an epoxy resin, a vinyl resin and a rubbery polymer, and a dye and lowers the weldability with the image receiving layer and also enhances the transfer properties of a dye to the image receiving layer at the time of printing due to the heating of a thermal head and has action and function for forming a high density printing image with good sensitivity without generating the contamination of the recording medium. |
