<p>The present invention relates to a process and plant for treating municipal waste. The plant comprises a principal line and a secondary line both connected to the secondary screen (6) of the principal line. This secondary line comprises a densimetric sorting station (15) connected to a pulper (16) leading to a wet screening station (17). Soluble matter coming from the wet screening station (17) is dried before being mixed with the compostable materials coming from the principal line.
