PURPOSE:To obtain the initial brake power and improve quality by allowing the organic component in 5% or less as the frictional material component on the surface side or the organic component in 5% or less to contain metal oxides, in a frictional material using a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of a frictional material, similarly to the manufacture of a two layer material in the preshaping of the frictional material, a back metal 1 side is made of an ordinary frictional basic material 2, and the content of the organic component in a surface layer 3 is set to 5% or less, and then the heating treatment is applied, and the surface is polishing-finished. The above-described frictional material is mainly the phenol resin as a binder necessary for forming the frictional material. Further, when the above-described organic component in 5% or less is allowed to contain the metal oxides such as MgO, SiO, and Al2O3, the initial brake power can be increased furthermore. Accordingly, the frictional material thus formed has the initial brake power which is equal to that of the frictional material which is applied with the surface baking, and since the surface baking process can be omitted, the baking unevenness can be suppressed, and quality can be improved, and cost cut can be achieved. |
