<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the reproducibility of the color image based on an image signal and to record a high density image without shortening the life of a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:The heating element 42 provided in the vicinity of the leading end of a thermal head 32 comes into contact with the thermal recording material 10 wound around a support drum 30 and an image is formed to the thermal recording material 10 by the heat generation corresponding to the image signal 100 outputted from a control unit 45 to the heating element 42. When a pixel showing high developed color density is recorded by a CPU 82, the supply of the image signal inputted so as not to increase the heat of the thermal head 32 generated at the time of thermal processing is cut off and the supply of the image signal is started so that the heat of the thermal head does not reach below the heat required in color development. By this constitution, even when a signal is supplied to the thermal head 32 in order to develop a high density color, an image can be recorded without generating a temp. rise bringing about a damage in the thermal head 32.</p> |
