In a clamping device for workpieces, in particular workpieces of large area and small wall thickness, accurate support by clamping elements is necessary for the machining. The clamping element contains an interposed swivel disc (2) which is held on a supporting body (1), the swivel disc (2) being adjustably arranged relative to the supporting body (1) on a first guide surface (5), and the clamping element being adjustably arranged relative to the swivel disc (2) and/or the supporting body (1) on a second guide surface (7). The elements for clamping have guide surfaces arranged on ball sections so that maximum swivelling mobility is provided.
