<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which can cope with optical disks of three kinds or more without increasing the size of a device and increasing a manufacturing cost, and which can output accurately a signal including information required for position control of an objective lens for each optical disk. <P>SOLUTION: Luminous fluxes emitted from three light sources (LD1, LD2, LD3) are converged on a recording face of the optical disk 15 corresponding respectively through an objective lens 60. At the time, after the luminous fluxes emitted from two specified light sources (LD2, LD3) out of three light sources are branched respectively by an optical path separating element 131, they are made incident on the objective lens. That is, since two specified light sources share the optical path separating element, the number of parts can be decreased more than conventional one, making the optical pickup device compact and a low cost device can be promoted, while an assembly process of parts and an adjusting process can be simplified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
