PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts required for exchanging by separately exchanging a process cartridge and a developing unit whose service lifes are different. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 3 comprising the principal part of a first process cartridge 21 has a constant service life and a life judging mechanism is provided. On the other hand, the life of the developing unit 5 as a second process cartridge 22 is longer than that cartridge 21 used to the limit is exchanged to a new one, the second process cartridge 22 is separated from the first process cartridge 21 and repeatedly used in such a manner that a cover 5b on the top surface of a toner storage room 5a is opened and toner bottles 31 are turned up side down on each port of the toner storage room 5a, to replenish toner T. The toner T for the new one in the toner storage room 5 is stirred by a stirring bar 5d manually rotated or rotated linked with a developing sleeve 5c, to be continuously used. |
