PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage alloy electrode for an alkaline storage battery with low internal resistance, high output characteristics, and long cycle life. SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage alloy electrode is constituted with AB5 type hydrogen storage alloy powder and contains an yttrium compound and a compound of rare-earth elements. The total weight of the yttrium compound 2 and the rare-earth element compound 3 is limited to 0.5-2.0 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of hydrogen storage alloy powder, and preferably, the ratio of the yttrium compound is 60 wt.% or more, and the ratio of the compound of light rare-earth elements (La, Ce, Pf, Nd) is 7 wt.% or less. |
