PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably inspect without depending upon the state of a printer by monitoring the state of the printer according to various signals representing the state of the printer, and switching the inspecting level and a reference image in response to the state of the printer. SOLUTION: A printer speed signal is sent from an encoder 14 mounted at the plate cylinder of a printer 10 in an inspecting apparatus 12. A printer operation signal for judging whether the printer 10 is operated or not, a normal sheet signal for judging whether a printed matter is normal sheet or not and a paster signal for conducting paster by the printer 10 are sent from the printer 10 to the apparatus 12. The apparatus 12 detects the state of the printer 10 based on these signals, and inspects at the suitable inspecting level with the reference image responsive to the state of the printer 10. For example, if the printing is in an unstable state, the reference image is updated to make the level rough. Thus, it makes it possible to prevent the erroneous judgement in the case that the printing state is unstable like at the time of starting printing or immediately after the paster. |
