Signal compression circuit for ISDN

The transmitted signals contain speech, data and signalling signals. They are processed by a demultiplexer (DMUX) which delivers the correspondent signal tributaries to a switch unit (s). The latter routes separately signals to be compressed, or coded, as well as signals not to be compressed. A coder (K) handles the signals ought to be compressed. A multiplexer (MUX) handles the coded and uncompressed and signalling signals. A control unit (MP) governs the switch unit and the multiplexer which dependents on the contents of the signalling signals. An analog circuit may be used for signal decompression.
