PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic still camera constituted so that the control accuracy of the light quantity of stroboscopic light is enhanced by suppressing the excessive overexposure of a front-light part an correcting the underexposure of a backlight part in backlight photographing such as daylight synchro. SOLUTION: An image pickup signal from a CCD 2 is converted into an image signal by a signal processing block 3 and stored in an image recording memory 4. By a CPU 6, the CCD 2 is controlled through an operation key unit 7, a stroboscope control unit 8 and a TG 5 being a timing signal generator. When a mode is judged to be the daylight synchro mode or the forcible light emission mode, the electric charge accumulated amount (exposure) of the CCD 2 is controlled so as to become under a proper value by a fixed amount. Besides, the accumulated light amount set value of a stroboscope control part is controlled so as to become over the proper value by the fixed amount. |
