PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a polarizing element having plural polarizing members varying in the transmission axis directions of polarized light and a phase difference element having plural phase difference members varying in their phase delay axes or phase advance axes directions. SOLUTION: The polarizing films 2a, 4a arranged on a base material 1 by directing the transmission axes of the polarized light toward a prescribed direction are chipped by a dicer 3, by which the polarized light members 2, 4 having the transmission axes of the polarized light facing the directions different from each other are formed. The phase difference films 2a, 4a arranged on the base material 1 having the phase delay axes or phase advance axes facing the prescribed directions are chipped by the dicer 3, by which the phase difference members 2, 4 having the phase delay axes or phase advance axes facing the directions different from each other are formed. |
