PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head device capable of decreasing the dimension of optical disk in vertical direction. SOLUTION: An optical head device 100 is equipped with a semiconductor laser generator 1 which exits light beam, a collimeter lens 2 which converts the light beam exited from the semiconductor laser generator 1 to parallel light beams 5 having an elliptic beam shape, a beam shape arranging prism 6 which arranges the beam shape of the parallel light beam 5 from ellipse into circle, and an objective lens 9 which irradiates an optical information recording media 10 with parallel light beams 8 having a beam shape arranged in circle. The semiconductor laser generator 1 is arranged so that the direction of minor axis of ellipse of the parallel light beam 5 becomes substantially parallel to the direction of rotary shaft of the optical information recording media 10. |
