PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a boiler for reducing number of times of starting and stopping a blower by improving a pressure drop after pre-purging is finished while executing the step of pre-purging. SOLUTION: The combustion controller for a boiler for controlling combustion based on a signal of a steam pressure detector for detecting steam pressure of the boiler comprises means for monitoring time change of the stream pressure of the boiler, thereby monitoring time changesθ1 ,θ2 of the pressure at the time of rising the pressure at the time of rising the pressure to combustion stopping pressure P1 , stopping the combustion if the change is a set valueθor less, simultaneously entering a pre-purging operation, waiting in the state that the pre-purging is completed, and entering ignition at the time of dropping the pressure to a combustion starting pressure P2 .
