The measuring device has a measuring line (5) wound onto a spool (4) held under tension. A float (6) or flow body is fastened to one end of the line. While an injection jet (10), which causes the high pressure injection, is emitted, the float is brought into the jet and can be held there. The measuring device has a device (7) for determining how much of the line has unwound. The line can be re- wound. Independent claims also cover a method for determining the diameter of the high pressure injection body.
