The rotating electric machine includes a stator, rotor and windings. One winding at least has one or more current carrying conductors (2). Around each conductor is an inner layer with semiconducting properties and around the inner layer is a solid insulation. Around the solid insulation is a outer layer with semiconducting properties. The inner semiconducting layer is at the same potential as the conductor. The outer semiconducting layer essentially constitutes an equipotential surface surrounding the conductors, and is connected to a chosen potential, earth potential. |
