FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: quality of petroleum pitch is controlled when performing process of thermopolycondensation of raw material by heating it in tube furnace and then keeping it in reactor from which thermal gas oil is removed and recycled, amount of recycling gas oil being varied in dependence on projected quality of pitch, whereas gas oil is returned into thermopolycondensation process by introducing it into tube furnace and/or reactor.
