The medical image system has an image memory (1) containing image data from an X-ray image intensifier- television and converted to a first digital, data format. A data converter, a personal computer, converts the data from the image memory into a second data format suitable for the network. The personal computer is connected with the image memory via a SCSI bus for the data transfer between the image memory and personal computer. A second serial interface (SP1) is provided for connection to a service personal computer (9) to interrogate the data converting computer configuration data and alter them if necessary.
