PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double tube electric discharge lamp which realizes the cost down and which prevents a leak of a UV ray and in which an impact resistant is not lowered and a lighting system using it. SOLUTION: In the double tube electric discharge lamp, a sealing portion 1a is provided on both ends and a pair of electrodes sealed is supported through the sealing portion and an ionized medium for radiating a UV ray by an electric discharge is filled in the inside of a slender and a translucent electric discharge container, capable of permeating a UV ray, of which a tip end is connected to a sealing portion and a base end side is projected to the outside. A transmissive electric discharge container 1 is self-contained in a UV ray-shielding translucent outer tube 4 and the transmissive outer tube 4 is sealed to an introducing conductor and is spaced form both ends of the translucent electric discharge container 1 and is supported. A fluorescent body layer 5 is exposed and disposed at the inside of the transmissive outer tube. As the introducing conductor, a sealing alloy containing tungsten, Fe, Ni and Co and Dumet wire are used corresponding to the transmissive outer tube.
