PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing roll flaws in a multi roll mill by which the generation of the roll marks is effectively prevented easily and at a low cost. SOLUTION: In this method for preventing the roll flaws, when gaps are present respectively between the upper work roll 2 and each upper intermediate roll 4 and between the lower work roll 3 and each lower intermediate roll 5 of the multi roll mill 1, rolling oil is jetted toward each gap so that an oil film is formed on the surfaces of the upper work roll 2 and the lower work roll 3. In this way, even when the upper work roll 2 and each upper intermediate roll 4 or the lower work roll 3 and each lower intermediate roll 5 are brought into contact with each other, load by contacting is absorbed by the viscosity of the oil films which are formed on the surfaces of the upper work roll 2 and lower work roll 3. Consequently, the generation of bruises on the surfaces of the upper work roll 2 and lower work roll 3 is prevented.
