PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for carrying out oxidation of carbon-boron bond performed at a low temperature, controlled in quantity-velocity by adding Oxone (registered trademark) solution, excellent in total safety to the oxidation and allowing accurately weighing and adding the reagent for reaction because the Oxone is a solid with high yield and high purity. SOLUTION: A hydroxy compound is produced by reacting a compound having carbon-carbon double bond with a borane and then oxidizing the carbon- boron bond in the obtained intermediate by using the Oxone.
