<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct facsimile communication in real time without the need for negotiation to match communication speeds in two public phone networks. SOLUTION: A main control section 101 of a gateway 60B executes a flow control processing in a way that the main control section 101 inserts an inter- frame flag or a fill bit to image data during transmission and transmits the resulting image data to a destination facsimile terminal 20B (step S15) when receiving no image data from a gateway 60A (NO in step S11 shown in Figure) and transmitting the image data to the destination facsimile terminal 20B in the case that the communication speed of the Internet 40 is faster than the communication speed of the public phone network 50. On the other hand, the main control section 101 temporarily stores the received image data to a hard disk drive 108 (step S13) when transmitting he image data to the destination facsimile terminal 20B and receiving the image data from the gateway 60A (YES in step S12) in the case that the communication speed of the Internet 40 is slower than the communication speed of the public phone network 50.</p> |
