PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation device for vehicle capable of automatically holding a joystick at least in an optional accelerating operation position. SOLUTION: When a retaining switch 20 is operated in the state where the joystick 1 is operated in an accelerating operation direction a holding command signal HS is outputted to a control means 4, and the control means outputs a prescribed holding drive signal HD to an accelerating and decelerating operation reaction motor 9. The accelerating and decelerating operation reaction motor 9 holds the joystick 1 in the optional accelerating operation position in equilibrium with the returning force of a return mechanism.
