PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system which can obtain contents data embedded with desired electronic water mark information at a high speed for a service where different electronic watermark information is embedded for every delivery of contents, or a service requiring high speed electronic watermark embedding processing, and a medium storing a program for embedding an electronic watermark and a medium for recording contents. SOLUTION: Contents data comprises two or more of piratical data, and a contents data base comprising respective partial data embedded with a bit or a bit sequence, as an electronic watermark, for all possible bits or a small bit sequence is generated. The method for embedding an electronic watermark comprises a step for selecting corresponding partial data for each bit in a bit sequence or a small bit sequence of an electronic watermark being embedded, and a step for generating contents data embedded with an electronic watermark by patching selected partial data.
