PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal acquisition method and device, in which its circuitry for receiving electric charges transferred from electric charge transfer paths and generating an image signal on the basis of the electric charges can be simplified. SOLUTION: A light receiving means 10 provided with single-row photoelectric conversion elements 11, 12, 13 receives an incident light, the electric charges stored in each photoelectric conversion element are transferred through two electric charge transfer paths 20A, 20B placed at both sides of the single-row photoelectric conversion elements, and an image signal generating means 50 generates an electric image signal. In this case, an adder means 33 adds signals on the basis of the respective electric charges stored in one photoelectric conversion element and transferred through the two electric charge transfer paths 20A, 20B to obtain a sum signal and a correction means 34 corrects the sum signal to generate the image signal.
