Stabilized aluminium zirconium antiperspirant formulations further containing an amino acid

An aluminum zirconium composition is obtained by stabilizing an aqueous solution of aluminum zirconium based salts with a water soluble amino acid such as glycine in the amount of 1:1.2 to 1:5 of zirconium to amino acid. The composition is used in cosmetic products such as deodorants. By reducing the polymerization of small zirconium species with an elevated amount of amino acid(s), the efficacy of the antiperspirant salt is maintained.
