摘要 PURPOSE: A graphite-containing composition, a negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery and a lithium secondary battery employing the negative electrode are provided, to improve the charging capacity and the cycle characteristics of a battery in high rate charging/discharging. CONSTITUTION: The graphite-containing composition is prepared into a sheet having a density of 1.5-2.0 g/cm3 by mixing graphite powder and a binder, and the composition shows the ratio of I(110)/I(002) (%) of 0.5 or more when the surface of the sheet is used as an X-ray diffraction measurement surface, wherein I(002) and I(110) are each diffraction intense of the (002) face and (110) face of graphite. Preferably the method comprises the steps of dispersing graphite powder and a binder in a solvent to prepare paste; coating the paste on a substrate; impressing the magnetic field to the paste to align graphite particles; and removing the solvent to fix the graphite powder by using the binder.
