Optical measurement method for positioning of rotor components in e.g. turbo engine, involves analyzing images by transmission in absolute geometric sizes

The method uses a video stroboscope (3), a light source (6) and a trigger sensor (16). The method involves turning the rotor (1) about its axis and the constantly or in pulses illuminating part of the rotor with the light source. A camera (5) is focused on the illuminated segment. The trigger sensor generates a trigger signal depending on the position of the component (2) and this signal controls the stroboscope with accurate phase. Images of the component are recorded by the camera and are stored and archived. The images are analyzed by transmitting in absolute geometric sizes. Independent claims also cover use of the method.
