The production of a catalytically active porous shaped article (I) involves: (a) intimately mixing a catalytically active powder (II), comprising particles with defined porosity, with a non-elastic pore former (III); (b) shaping the mixture; and (c) calcining. An independent claim is included for the shaped articles (I) obtained by the process.
