<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of obtaining an image with high image quality by interpolation. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing method disclosed herein includes: a step S102 of discriminating an edge direction of a target pixel; a step S104 of adjusting contribution parameters scaleP and scaleQ of a Bicubic function as an interpolation function, Bicubic (p, q)=Cubic (p/scaleP)×Cubic (q/scaleQ) in a way that pixels of a photographed image existing in directions along the edge direction much contribute to the interpolation and pixels of the photographed image existing in directions orthogonal to the edge direction less contribute to the interpolation; and steps S105 to S110 of using the interpolation function and the pixels of the photographed image to interpolate the target pixel.
