<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel catalyst material for a fuel cell and its manufacturing method, with low-cost and extensively existing WC<SB>1-x</SB>dispersed and carried on a carrier. <P>SOLUTION: Tungsten carbide fine particles with a particle size of 2 to 10 nm are made carried by the carrier.
