PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reversible thermal recording medium by which full color displaying can be performed at a high speed and written informations can be easily erased. SOLUTION: This recording medium consists of a sheet-like base layer 2, an intermediate layer 3, a reversible heat-sensitive recording layer 4 and a protective layer 5. The recording layer 4 has a low mol.wt. cholesteric liq. crystal compd. which exhibits cholesteric phase at a higher temp. than room temp. and reflects a light in a wave region corresponding to the temp. and is solidified under the reflecting condition by quenching from the temp. and exhibits scattering condition by cooling slowly from the temp. or at least the temp. as a main ingredient. |
