PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain perfect print results by complementing, scanning and printing a defective dot or dots of a predetermined range including the defective dot in addition to scanning and printing of one line excluding the defective dot or dots of the predetermined range including the defective dot when defective dot information is stored. SOLUTION: A defective dot detection process means 62 compares data read by a print face detection means with a predetermined pattern in a ROM, selects a complementary printing control means 65 if a defective dot is found as the result of the comparison, and transfers data of a printing buffer 41 to a head driver corresponding to a predetermined normal block without using a block including the defective dot, so that a predetermined printing is carried out while a recording paper is transferred and a head is controlled. A position of the defective dot is stored with a dot number. While printing with the dot number is avoided a second scanning complements the defective dot. |
