The invention relates to ortho- and meta-substituted bis-aryl compounds of formula (I) and to pharmaceutical preparations containing these compounds. These compounds are especially well-suited for use as antiarrhythmic active substances, in particular, for the treatment and prophylaxis of atrial arrhythmias, e. g. atrial fibrillations and atrial flutters.
