METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING ENHANCED MEDIA DATA IN DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA BROADCAST SYSTEM

A high quality media data processing method in a DMB broadcasting system and an apparatus thereof for limiting the transmission band of the round wave digital multimedia broadcasting transport network are provided to simplify a system step and synchronize a video ES and a basic layer ES. A high quality media data processing unit comprises a base layer processing unit(201), an enhancement layer processing unit(203), and a synchronizer(205). The base layer processing unit encodes the channel by multiplexing the basic layer stream. The enhancement layer processing unit synchronizes the basic stream of the enhancement layer to the basic stream of the basic layer. The enhancement layer processing unit processes one or more transmission channel among a plurality of transmission channels in order to be transmitted. Synchronizer provides the synchronization information to the enhancement layer processing unit. The synchronization information synchronizes the elementary stream of the enhancement layer in the elementary stream of the base layer.
