PATH MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND PATH MANAGEMENT METHOD

[Problem] To propose a path management device and a path management method capable of setting a path which connects a host computer to a new storage device and in which deterioration of response performance can be suppressed. [Solution] A path management device for managing paths between a host computer and multiple storage devices. The path management device searches for a first logical path for connecting the host computer to a logical device in a newly added storage device by using an inter-casing path connecting a currently operating existing storage device to the new storage device and creates a second logical path that directly connects the host computer to the logical device in the new storage device without using the inter-casing path. When an input/output request is issued from the host computer to the logical device in the new storage device, the path management device sets the paths so that both the first logical path and the second logical path are used in execution of input/output processing in response to the input/output request.
