Disclosed are an application operating apparatus based on voice recognition and a control method thereof which do not need many processing steps to control an apparatus based on voice recognition. The application operation apparatus according to an embodiment of the invention comprises: a processor; and a memory connected to the processor, wherein the memory is executed in a background state, stores multiple trigger instructions, determines whether a voice of the user inputted corresponds to one of the multiple trigger instructions stored, and stores a program instruction executable by the processor in order to call an application according to the corresponded trigger instruction when a voice of the user corresponds to one of the multiple trigger instructions stored. |
