PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide uniform illuminating light and to enhance brightness by reducing the unevenness of the illuminating light used for illuminating letters and symbols on a liquid-crystal device, while using a simple structure. SOLUTION: The size of a reflecting surface 9 determined by its longitudinal length D and cross length C and the size of the exit window 11 of a white lid frame 10 determined by its longitudinal length E and its cross length F are set to be equal to longitudinal and cross lengths A, B determining the display area of letters and symbols 13 or smaller than the area of the outer form of an acrylic plate 8. The reflecting surface 9 is provided only near the display range of the letters and symbols 13 which require minimum illumination. Further, the range of the exist window 11 of the white lid frame 10 is reduced so that only the display range of the letters and symbols 13 which require the minimum illumination is illuminated. |
