PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject compound in high yield by dehydrofluorinating a specific fluorinated saturated hydrocarbon in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst with an alkaline compound. SOLUTION: (A) A preferably 4-10C fluorinated saturated hydrocarbon having CHF-CHF bond (e.g. 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,5-octafluorocyclopentane) is dehydrofluorinated in the presence of (B) a phase-transfer catalyst (e.g. tetramethylammonium bromide) with (C) an alkaline compound, preferably the one selected from metal carbonates and metal hydrogencarbonates usually at normal temperatures to 150 deg.C under atmospheric pressure to 10 atm for 10 min to 10 h to thereby produce (D) the objective compound having CH=CF bond. In the above reaction, the amount of the component B used is preferably about 0.001-20 wt.% based on the component A. |
