gypsum, from H3PO4 production from crude phosphate and H2SO4, is heated at 500-900 degrees C and (pref. 600-800 degrees C) in SO2 containing furnace atm., in order to reduce F-content (in one example from 0.5 to 0.09%), and usual aggregates are admixed to the hot material without heat-loss before charging to the calcining kiln. |
