The drop wires are aligned in the spaces bordered by leading strips, and air is pumped into the area round the drop wires to be drawn out through a suction device. The wires and the leading strips form a compact composite package allowing thinner drop wires to be used and increasing the number of wires in the heald per fabric width, and the air passage holds the warp threads in place even on breakage. |
